Shirley Boys' High School
The Shirley Boys' High School is located in the city of Christchurch on the east coast of the South Island of New Zealand. It is a boys' school with 1,200 students and welcomes international students into Year 9-13.
Academic Programme
The school offers a comprehensive and modern curriculum which prepares students for national examinations. Many of their graduates enter tertiary study institutions. Academic excellence is promoted and students regularly achieve national success and recognition in various examinations.
Most of the courses are for a year's duration, beginning in late January and ending in December. However, special programmes will be set up for international students wishing to enrol during the school year.
Extra-Curricular Programme
The school encourage students to participate in their programme of sporting and cultural activities. Approximately 30 different sports, ranging from golf, badminton and fencing to rugby, soccer and cricket are offered. Interest and talent in music, drama, debating, public speaking and chess is actively encouraged.
